Feed The Hungry response to Hurricanes Gustav, Hannah, and Ike

Feed The Hungry at World Pulse Festival

Wow... what a great day!! Have to honestly say this was the BEST World Pulse Fest I've ever seen in 13 years. Fantastic weather, huge crowd (50,000+), awesome music & worship. You can catch a repeat at worldpulsefestival.com

This year we promoted 64100.org--what's that??? Simply put $6 for 100 meals... for every $6 we recieve, Feed The Hungry can send 100 meals to hungry kids in Africa and Asia; kids that we get to bless, encourage, and see grow in Christ through the Every Child Every Day program.

If you'd like to find out a little bit more about 64100.org just go there and check out the website. We hope to get an online store up and running pretty soon so the World Pulse Fest-goers aren't the only folks who get to wear the cool t-shirts we had for sale that day (which say "my shirt fed 100 kids" on the back).

2007 Mozambique Flood Relief

On Friday, February 23, a tropical cyclone bearing 175 mph winds swept in from the Indian Ocean, tearing into central Mozambique.  As if that weren't crushing enough -- the country was already fighting the worst flooding in 50 years. 300,000 Mozambicans now must "survive" on dirty water, little food, and minimal hope.  Daily life has been replaced with daily fear of water-borne diseases and starvation.  100,000 children are at risk ... living in crowded, makeshift camps that don't have enough food. On Saturday, February 24, Feed The Hungry put relief efforts into motion to rush aid to our ministry partners in Mozambique, starting with a quarter-million meal packs trucked up from Storage facilities in neighboring Swaziland...  More Info

Darfur, Sudan

The Darfur region of Sudan-- you may have heard about it in the news.  It's one of the most tragic, most savage killing fields in the world. For two decades the horror of civil war has inflicted suffering on a staggering scale: Rape. Torture. Hundreds of thousands dead. Mllions displaced. Today Feed The Hungry has an unprecedented opportunity to go into this overwhelmingly Muslim land with life-saving food . . . and to share the message of hope in Jesus Christ. In fact, every dollar donated to this project will be multiplied seven-and-a-half times!  Here's how God has engineered this miracle...  More info

 August 30, 2006 - Acco, Northern Israel

Shortly after Hezbollah rockets began falling into Northern Israel, FTH contacted Pastor Guy Cohen of Katzir Asher congregation in the city of Acco, just 12 miles from the Lebanon border.  Of the 900 Ketusha rockets that landed in populated areas, 200 found their way into the homes and streets of Acco.  FTH quickly wired funds for the purchase of food and supplies to help hundreds of families who had no choice but to remain in the city and live in bomb shelters for weeks.  Click here to see Pastor Guy's email correspondence and a 3 ½ minute video report from Acco.

 August 4, 2006 - Barahona, Dominican Republic

Thanks for your prayers while we were in the Dominican Republic… Barahona is very under-developed and neglected.  Our three containers have been held up in customs and are finally leaving the port today PTL!!  The cause of the hold up was two-fold: (1) new personnel installed after the May elections, and (2) changes in the import/customs laws… both of these combined spell D-E-L-A-Y-S.  Thankfully our man there, Fidel, stayed on the job 24/7 and it only took an extra three weeks to get the containers released!  More from Barahona
